Privacy Policy
Last updated 3 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how OpenSchool (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our website and study platform (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
Account information. When you sign up we collect your name, email address, and authentication details through our identity provider, Clerk.
Usage and study data. We collect the questions you attempt, your answers, progress, streaks, and other activity so we can power your learning experience and analytics.
Billing information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers; Stripe handles payment details under its own privacy terms.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to provide and improve the Service, personalise your learning, process subscriptions and payments, communicate with you about your account, and keep the platform secure.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it — or allow others to use it — to train artificial intelligence or machine-learning models. Our Terms of Service separately prohibit using the Service or its materials with any AI or automated system.
3. Third-party services
We share limited data with trusted providers that help us run the Service, including Clerk (authentication), Stripe (payments), and our cloud hosting and analytics providers. Each processes data under its own privacy policy and only as needed to deliver their service to us.
4. Data retention
We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active, and thereafter only as long as needed to meet legal, accounting, or reporting obligations. You can request deletion of your account at any time.
5. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may access, correct, or delete your personal information, and object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.
7. Students and young people
The Service is used by secondary-school students. Where required, we rely on appropriate consent and handle student information with additional care in line with applicable privacy laws.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the “last updated” date above.
9. Contact us
